A Christmas Wish - Brum Blogmas #24

I've been missing for a few Brum Blogmas posts in the last week and I apologize, sometimes life just gets in the way.

Those who know me well know that this year has been a real mixed bag for me, it's had its ups and downs and many a twist and turn like it does for us all but this week has been the toughest; I spent Monday in hospital very unwell and it's been a tough week trying to find the balance between rest, recovery and preparing for Christmas. I'm still not recovered and the new year holds some scary ideas for getting to full recovery for me but that's next year's problem.

This week I also lost a dear part of my family, Riley - a wonderful little cocker spaniel who could put a smile on anyone's face. He was such a loving little dog and pets really are an important part of the family, if you're a pet owner you'll know this well. It's hit me a little hard but I still want to make a Christmas wish because he would want me to.

My Christmas wish is for health and happiness, as a disabled person I'll never reach the full potential of health for my age but I wish for less high pain days and being able to enjoy the year ahead. I wish for these things for my friends and family too, we all deserve happiness and a reason to smile each day.

I'll leave you with a little Harry Potter quote this Christmas eve, it resonates with me a lot in hard times:

"Happiness can be found even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light"

Lastly,

Merry Christmas readers. I hope you have a day filled with fun, and memories that last a lifetime. I'll be thinking of all the free elves today and tomorrow.
